The system is simple and easy to operate. It relies on 2 stainless steel pontoons that are compartmentalized into 3 independent sections and offer a 2 to 1 displacement factor for flotation. The dredge is similar to a small pontoon boat.
There is no damage to the shoreline or tracks to be repaired. The launching and loading are more like a boat than a conventional dredge or excavator. Mobilization costs are a fraction of a typical six-inch dredge. With a wet weight of around 4,000 pounds, it is a very lightweight portable dredge, with a low cost of mobilization, and a small environmental footprint. The dredge measures just over 22′ long and 6′ wide and is less than 6′ tall. Our sediment removal system is comprised of a small dredge manufactured domestically.
